Playing with Bastien Piano Books, do they have exams?

I’ve finished the first level of this piano book and for some reason I didn’t go to an exam. I also told my piano teacher that I wanted to do levels/exams so now I’m really confused and I can’t ask her now since it’s holidays.
So by playing with these books, do they have exams?

Question about getting piano lessons again?

I had to quit piano lessons because my teacher insulted my family, among other things that I will not get into. Anyway, I want to have piano lessons again (with a different teacher); however, my work schedule is very unpredictable right now. I still work at home once a week, but it’s no longer on the same day. I took piano lessons for three years and play at Level 4 in the Bastien books and Level 1 in the Alfred books. I live in a fairly small town and there is a piano teacher that I want to work with (she used to go to my church and is a real nice lady), but her schedule is so extremely busy her only opening is 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Should I just play casually at my current level (which would feel stagnant; I can play pieces of songs here and there from my stepmother’s “easy” songbooks), should I take online piano lessons, or should I quit?

Possible to learn piano alone with Bastien Piano books?

I’ve been looking into getting this keyboard that also comes with a few books from the Bastien Piano series. It has some early children’s beginner books too, so I just wanted to know if I would be able to learn from these books by myself. I don’t have enough money for a teacher, but I have friends that play piano that I could ask for help. I also know that it’ll take a lot more work, but I’m prepared.

Concert or professional pianists….?

I have a question for anyone who is a concert or professional pianist.
I really have started to love the classics after getting into the Bastien intermediate level piano books. I am wondering, considering that I can’t play by ear, is it possible for me to really ever learn to play the classics. I can play the melody of a song on the flute and piano by ear, but I can’t seem to put chords together to save my life (I can improvise hymns to some extent, though)
Have any of you learned this without being able to play by ear, or do you know anyone who has? Thanks so much.
I really want to learn to play classical music, but I don’t want to just botch them all up, and I want to know if I am wasting my time or not trying to learn. Thanks agan!

Which piano method (book) would you recommend?

I want to teach my 6 year old (I’ve played piano for 30 years so she sees me playing all the time and knows quite a few things but I can’t decide which method or series of methods to use.
Any recommendations?
Here’s a list of methods I found in my research, I’m sure there are more:
Alfred series
Bastien series
Faber & Faber
Noona methods
Glover methods
Teaching Little Fingers to Play series
Michael Aaron Piano course
Suzuki methods

Hal Leonard methods

Rhythm Piano – suggestions / advice needed?

I am wondering, should I take that Rhythm Piano course that is available online. Here is the link http://www.playpianotoday.com/

I have been teaching myself from Bastien’s Books at home for over a year. I feel I am getting along really well, but should I take this course in addition? Is this going to do something for me that books and homestudy methods just can’t do – is what I’m wondering.
Should I concentrate only on my visual methods since I am only about a level 2, and worry bout any eat training or rhythm pattern later on….what is the advice of you on this…I am uncertain right now.
I am about a level 2 or very early level 3 piano…I get books all the time to help me move on, I am thinking of getting Dvds too – thats how this even came into the picture, just so you know.
I
I typed ” Should I concentrate only on my visual methods since I am only about a level 2, and worry bout any eat training or rhythm pattern later on….”
But I meant to type ” Should I concentrate only on my visual methods since I am only about a level 2, and worry bout any ear training or rhythm pattern later on….
